Six years ago I returned to live in the UK, and took the DipTrans examination of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (passed with a merit in general translation , a pass in social sciences and a distinction in Business). I have experience in translation in the following areas - marketing, business, finance, fashion, websites, religious/spiritual themes, medical/pharmaceutical, university papers and theses, social sciences, literature. I am also happy to take on proofreading, editing and transcription assignments. I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.

My specialization is in academic texts, legal documents and literature, but I cover many areas of translation: from blockchain to video games. A little about myself. I'm from the US, but now reside in Riga, Latvia and have a PhD in Slavic & East European Studies.

I've been in translations/linguistics since 1997, millions of words, vast experience, a great lot of fields, I've worked for Google, Airbnb, governments (local and states), just name it. I'm fond of languages. I can speak English (of course), French, Russian, some German, Norwegian, Chinese and even Ukrainian. I've studied Icelandic and am familiar with Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Faroese. Localization/CAT tools: starting from routine tasks such as bilingual files prep and post-processing and ending with deployment of custom-tailored translation memory servers using SVN or GIT technologies. Briefly, I love everything related to languages.
