My name is Allie Shakked Zur and I'm an educator, writer and an experienced translator currently living in Tel Aviv. Hebrew and English are both my native tongues and I have a background in hebrew linguistics and in education as well as sports and physiology. I do translation, proofreading and transcription work in both languages in both directions.

I have a M.A. degree in Russian language, literature and linguistics from the University of Arizona, and my translations are read by undergraduate university students across the United States in the pages of _The Russia Reader_ (Duke University Press, 2010). I have also completed three years of German-language study at the University of Arizona. I worked extensively for over four years on the Russian 2014 Winter Olympics Project by translating a variety of documents, ranging from press releases and brochures to technical construction diagrams of the Olympic facilities. If you watched any of the English-language broadcasts of the Opening Ceremony on February 7, 2014, then you would have heard some of my translations of the speeches of officials as read by the TV commentators. I have also contributed translations of marketing materials that advance the business goals of major companies active in both Russia and Germany. For example, last fall I translated the annual report of a major Russia-based steel producer targeted at investors. I have also recently translated the clothing catalog of a German manufacturer of music merchandise. Let me help you tackle your next translation or proofreading project. My home office computer equipment includes two laptop computers (a Mac and a PC, allowing me to run a variety of CAT software, including SDL Trados Studio 2014). I perform daily backups, and I have high-speed Internet access. I am a recent graduate living in Germany. I enjoy translating on the side both as a hobby as well as a steady source of income. I consider Russian, English and French as my mother tongues. Furthermore, I am a fluent speaker of German, Turkish, Italian and Spanish and gladly translate from these languages.
